The Role

MARZ is seeking an experienced Tech lead to streamline the pipeline from user uploaded video to app produced result. MARZ already has a product in Beta with customers, this role will focus on adding new features to support our users advanced use cases. This role is for you if you can dream big and build fast.The Tech lead will act as the glue between our research and product teams ensuring they understand (and sometimes contribute) to the research initiatives while also preparing product for the release of new functionality. This role is the definition of multidisciplinary allowing successful candidates to learn about the entire system and drive the direction of the company.

What You'll Do

You will be the Tech Lead of the Lipdub AI application at MARZ.

As a Tech Lead, you will:
  • Take the initiative on the architecture and implementation of new features that will drive a high impact for the team (cost optimization, faster data processing, system scalability, etc.)
  • Develop and implement high-efficiency video data streaming solutions, focusing on reducing latency for real-time processing.
  • Optimize I/O processes for various video file formats to ensure seamless integration into our AI systems.
  • Reduce the cost of processing data, training our AI models and generating results.
  • Performance tuning for ML pipeline and ML backend (Python).
  • Scaled testing of AI output to make sure changes do not negatively impact the quality of the production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new video technologies and formats into our platform.
  • Although this is not a management role, you will be expected to formulate best practices for the team and maintain a high standard for code quality.
  • Design and implement testing frameworks to ensure the highest quality of video streaming capabilities.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in video compression and streaming technologies to continuously improve our solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, enhancing system reliability and performance.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Depth of experience in the Python programming languages 
  • Proven track record of optimizing performance for cost and speed
  • Experience delivering user facing features in Python
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Experience in architecting and developing cloud-native solutions on AWS

Nice to Haves

  • Extensive experience with video file formats, codecs, and transcoding.
  • Proficiency in ffmpeg for multimedia processing and streaming.
  • Experience with PyTorch for machine learning applications.
  • Solid understanding of real-time streaming protocols (e.g., RTMP, WebRTC) and experience in integrating them into applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for deploying multimedia applications is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of network architectures and protocols relevant to streaming and real-time data transmission.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
  • Understanding of ML concepts related to computer vision and/or how to develop pipelines for such applications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What happens next

After we receive your application, it will be reviewed by the Talent Acquisition team and the Hiring Manager.
